Gear
I use the following list of gear as a culture and travel photographer. As a world traveler, digital nomad, and a minimalist, I like to travel light, efficiently, and practically. This is my gear.
Also added are the software, sites, and apps that I consistently use for the business side of photography. And not to forget the services that help me with traveling the world safely and informed.

Sony Alpha 7 Mark IV
A powerhouse. An absolute magnificent machine that just delivers quality. The autofocus is sublime and the Alpha 7 Mark IV keeps giving me the shots that I want to compose. Sony get’s it!
24-70mm f2.8 Gmaster II
A powerhouse put on a powerhouse. This lens is an all-rounder that’s just perfect for my range of subjects. It captures wide landscapes, great portraits, and wonderful zoomed-in-detail shots. The f2.8 Gmaster II is worth every penny!
Fujifilm Instax Mini EVO
As a little creative sideproject while traveling the world, I print my best personal travel photos, and the endresult will be a big wall full of polaroids. This fun little camera+printer is also great for parties and weddings!
Squarespace
This site is made with Squarespace, a fantastic service to easily build very nice looking websites. As someone who built sites with Wordpress for 10+ years, I was shocked how relaxed this builder is.

Apple Airtags
Thieves are everywhere. And they prey on your expensive camera, laptop, smartphone, backpack, sling bag, and suitcases. The handy Airtags from Apple are fantastic to track where exactly your stuff is, especially if it’s taken from you.
It’s also very handy if airliners lose your suitcase ;)
ChatGPT & Gemini
AI has arrived. And the LLM’s from OpenAI and Google have been pretty amazing in speeding up my workflow. It’s so good, that I’m now wondering what we did all those decades without these handy services.
Timesavers, that’s what they truly are. Embrace AI a.s.a.p, or get left behind quickly.
Logitech MX Vertical
I know, it looks weird. But you will never want another mouse after this ergonomic mouse. Suddenly you will get the appeal because the stance of your hand with a ‘normal;’ mouse is actually weird. Do yourself a favor and get the Logitech MX Vertical!
iPhone 15 Pro Max
There is simply not a better smartphone than the newest iPhone. The smoothness of the OS, the beautiful screen, and the photo and video camera are just mindblowing. The 5x zoom is like magic!
Lightroom Classic
It’s a doozy to learn, but what a game-changer for your photographs! Lightroom has been a wonderful editing tool to really make my photos pop. Without it, photos are dull and actually quite useless. A must for serious photographers!
One.com Hosting
I’ve been partnering up with One for over 14 years already. Their helpdesk is amazing, the services are great and it just works. Can’t say any bad things about One, they just deliver on what they promise.
You can’t go wrong with One as your hosting platform.
NordVPN
Working from your laptop in cafes, on airports, and in hotels can be quite dangerous if you use their wifi. You have to secure your data and IP with a VPN. And NordVPN has been great for many years. A must for anybody who works outside of home regularly. Be safe, be wise. Get NordVPN.
Google Drive & Workspace
Everything Google. That’s the workflow I have been working with for years now. From Gmail to Spreadsheets and from Docs to Google Drive. It’s all Google.
For backing up my photos on the Cloud, I use a 2TB Google Drive subscription. It just works.
YouTube Premium
I watch at least two hours a day. I truly love YouTube for the entertainment, but also for inspiration and motivation. The main reason though is mainly for gaining skills and knowledge!
I rather watch 20 excellent videos on a specific topic than read a book on it. YouTube has been essential for upgrading my knowledge of photography!
YouTube Premium has no ads and includes YouTube Music.
MacBook Air 15” M2
So smooth, so subtle, so slick. The Apple MacBook Air M2 (Starlight) is everything a photographer needs to get work done. I upgraded this laptop with 24GB and the 1TB SSD. It runs Lightroom sooooo smooth!
Bose QuietComfort 35 II
My best friends and I have been fans of the Bose headsets since 2017. We couldn’t believe how good the sound quality was. The Bose QuietComfort has also been a lifesaver in noisy airplanes, noisy hotels and so on. Forever a fan!
Canva Pro
Where to even start… Canva Pro is a total package for all your online marketing promotions. All sorts of designs can be easily made here. Canva has saved me thousands of dollars and at least also thousands of hours of work.
Etsy
For selling prints, digital products and other creative projects, Etsy is the place to be. I sell my fine art prints there as well, which can be ordered on Etsy and delivered to your house.
I offer free global shipping and the absolute best quality paper and frames!
NomadList
If you want to know where to go as a world traveler / digital nomad, NomadList can provide you a whole bunch of suggestions. They rank the best places, and provide many handy details like the best coffeeshops, average prices, how safe it is, and so on.
The premium version even has a big chatgroup of like-minded nomads.
Evernote
My second brain. Without scribbling away all my ideas, thoughts and planning, my head would be a choatic mess.
Evernote is a great app that helps organize your life, your business, your travels, your plans, and even all of your showerthoughts.
X and Instagram
Social media is a fantastic tool for sharing your message with the world. If you follow the right people and brands, your social media can be very beneficial to your development as a person. And of course as a photographer.
I share my showcase on Instagram, and much much more on the journey of me as a photographer, entrepreneur and world traveler on X. Meet me there!

The Bucket List
I might be a minimalist, but that doesn’t mean I would want these gorgeous wannahaves. They will someday be mine. Maybe If I ever settle down and have an office again… ;)
For now, a man can (day)dream…
Apple Display
The ultimate display for editing, working and gawking at beautiful photos has to be the beautiful Apple 32-inch Pro Display XDR with Retina 6K Display.
Whenever, if ever, I settle down for a while, I’m getting this epic monitor right away.
Sandisk 2 TB SSD
The most trustworthy SSD-brand in the business. Nuff said?
Well, I’m eying a bigger one with 2 gigabyte is storage space. This small but powerful SSD is perfect for photographers on the go. And especially if their archive is growing and growing!
70-200mm f2.8 Gmaster II
It’s big, it’s heavy, it’s a extra unnecessary lens. I’m telling myself all these reasons not to buy this magnificient zoomlens. But I want it!
This beauty of a lens is making me feel like Gollum. I neeeeedz it!
Sony 160GB compact flash card
The most professional card a photographer can buy. A powerful, sturdy and huge card that will take some weeks or even months to fill up.
Expensive, but without a doubt a nice addition to your arsenal.
Lowepro Protactic
The ultimate photographer backpack! This is the Lowepro LP37177 Protactic BP 450 AW II.
I just can’t wait to get this fantastic backpack, and add the 70-200mm to it as well.
Soon, my precious… soon!
Leica Q2
A more subtle street photography camera is something that I’m eying, but I don’t wanna give up on quality. The Leica Q2 seems to be what I need. The price is absurd, but I just love the look of the camera, and what if produces.
Someday… ;)
