Galungan

Every 220 days, the new year in Bali starts with the Galungan holiday. It’s a 10-day long holiday filled with atmospherical, vibrant, and colorful festivities. The Balinese celebrate this Hindu festival with much pride. They truly adore their culture, heritage, traditions, and holidays, as you can see in this photo series:

10 days of Bali magic

I’ve spent more than a year of my life in wonderful Bali, exploring the entire island from left to right and top to bottom, but nothing could prepare me for the spectacle of Galungan. To get all these shots, I traversed those 10 days through Bali on my scooter for hours and hours. As you can imagine, it was an epic adventure!

The Balinese have made a big impression on me during Galungan. Their love for their culture is a beautiful sight to see, something that many countries and cultures lack. Community, religion, traditions and being a proud Balinese is what makes Bali so unique and special.

Terimah Kasih ya!
