My own 10 favorite shots of 2024
2024 has been a very eventful year for me. I have shot in dozens of bucket list locations and composed some really nice bangers. I’ve even turned some into super rare limited-edition fine art prints!
This is my top 10 of 2024;
IBU
My favorite photo of 2024 - and my favorite photo I’ve ever composed - is the colorful and wonderful photo I named ‘IBU’. I will forever cherish this magical moment because it felt like I’ve photographed Mother Earth herself.
To celebrate, I’ve made a 1/1 fine art print of IBU. A super deluxe ultra rare one-of-a-kind one-time-only edition! There will only be made one, ever. One and done. Sold is sold.
Ogoh Ogoh
It was the most crowded place I’ve ever been and it felt quite dangerous to stay. It was the Ogoh Ogoh festival in Denpasar, Bali. Thousands of Balinese people came to see the infamous parade with the colorful, weird, and scary ‘demons’. This shot is one of my favorites because I endured the madness to get the shot, and also because the composition is a perfect example of the Fibonacci sequence.
With ‘Ogoh Ogoh’ I became a finalist at the JRNY Travel Photographers Awards.
The Sacrifice
As real as it gets. This unique photograph showcases how Bali can also be; raw, hard, and graphic. This shot was taken on the first day of the Balinese New Year (Galungan). They start this week of festivities with a sacrifice of a pig. And you can just imagine how loud it was to be here. It was rough to hear and see, but it did made up for one hell of a photograph. It doesn’t get more real than this!
With ‘The Sacrifice’, I became a finalist at the URBAN Photo Awards. I guess this shot was a bit too harsh to become a winner… :)

A Hong Kong Minute
I’ve seen many cool panning shots on Instagram, but I never tried it myself. Hong Kong seemed like a perfect playground to try. And wow, I got the perfect one. Many were just blurry, but I caught a gem here with the taxidriver stopped in motion while the rest of the world is in full motion.
‘A Hong Kong Minute’ is also a limited edition fine artwork. There are only 3 ever available, so be quick!

Hong’ensi Temple
The biggest city in the world and hardly anybody has ever heard of it. It’s the wonderful Chinese mega-city Chongqing. There are more than 32 million Chinese living here!
I’ve seen about a hundred temples all around the world, but the beautiful ‘Hong’ensi Temple’ takes the lead.
Proud to be Balinese
The most proud folk you’ll ever encounter, and rightfully so. The Balinese smile from ear to ear when they talk about their communities, their traditions, their holidays, and their lovely rituals. They adore their own culture, and it shows in how they carry themselves; with a proud bravado!
‘Proud to be Balinese’ is also available as a limited edition fine artwork. There will only be 3 ever made, so be quick to collect your super rare museum quality frame+print+NFT.

Mighty Fuji
The most impressive mountain in the world is by far Mount Fuji. There is just none who even come close to the grandeur of Fuji. The whole scenery with the fall leaves, the surrounding lakes, and the snowy white top is just mesmerizing. And it really HUGE. It’s a beautiful giant.
Everyone in their lives needs to see Mt Fuji at least once.
I’ve turned Mighty Fuji into a super rare 1/1 fine art. There will only be one made. Ever. One and done. The only one. Get it quick.

gm Shanghai
The iconic skyline of The Bund of Shanghai has been photographed a billion times by now. How unoriginal! But this unique once-in-a-lifetime photograph of the Pudong business district is something else if you ask me!
The early morning blue hour combined with the golden hour from the golden rays of the rising sun makes the contrast just mind-blowingly beautiful. Combined with that is how the sun's rays are blocked by the gigantic Shanghai Tower, creating a beam of shadow across the skyline.
The timing, the colors, the contrast, and the unique moment, make this fine art quite original in a world filled with unoriginal.
A Moment with the Sun
How human it is, to warm up to the sun on a cold autumn day. This charismatic old Chinese lady in red sat there in the far corner visibly enjoying her little moment with the sun. I adore this photo because it’s such a recognizable feeling.

Torii
To obtain this unique shot without any tourists is a very challenging feet. It requires lots of patience and lots of uncomfortable moments, like getting up at 5 am. The serenity of this magical place is gone as soon as the clock strikes 8 am. But I got out very early, traversed through Kyoto in the freezing cold, made it to Fushimi Inari, walked the stairs up and up, threw a few tourists into the abyss…, and got the shot!
The serenity is just sublime. I just feel so calm when I stare at this photograph. * sigh *
