5 out of 50 tips from my free Ebook: “50 Practical Travel Tips from a World Traveler”
I’ve written a free Ebook for you!
After my viral Reddit topic with over 475.000+ views—and 600+ comments and 900+ likes— I started thinking. Maybe I should share all my insights, tips, tricks, and wisdom in a short but powerful ebook?
The Knowledge Gap
I was typing like a madman for 5 days straight to answer all those questions. People from all sorts of countries and cultures wanted to know how I did it. There seems to be a giant knowledge gap to make the same or a similar giant leap forward to becoming a world traveler / digital nomad.
I’ve picked out 5 out of the 50 tips and shared them here below. If you liked these tips, please download the full Ebook right here >> “FREE Ebook: 50 Practical Travel Tips from a World Traveler”
6. Airtag all the things!
Keys, wallets, backpacks, suitcases, bags, whatever – Airtag them all. It costs like 30 bucks for 3 Airtags, so invest a little and you’ll worry a lot less about losing your stuff. Even thieves can be apprehended thanks to these small little Airtags. Hide them well!
11. Follow the colors and numbers
I survived the busiest train station in the world! Getting around Shinjuku station in Tokyo is like walking into a multi-dimensional maze, but it is actually way easier than you think.
Don’t look at the sea of people. Forget the chaos of the crowds. Just focus on the colors and numbers you need to go to. Look at Google Maps and follow that exact instruction.
32. Housesitting to balance out the costs and to stay longer
Accommodations, like monthly rentals, can quickly add up. Especially if you are in the more expensive countries like England, USA, Australia, Japan, New Zealand and so on. If you want to travel longer than just a two-week holiday, and travel the world for many months or even years, consider housesitting.
A rental for a month in for example Thailand is about 800 dollars for a cute complete studio in the heart of Bangkok, but in Sydney, that can be like 2500 a month for a subpar hotel room outside the city center.
You can ‘housesit’ at someone's house who is on a holiday of their own. Usually, you have to also watch their cats or dogs. It might even be a dreamy farm in New Zealand with a bunch of silly goats.
You get free accommodation for like a month or two in dreamy places like Tokyo, Singapore, Brisbane, Amsterdam, Christchurch, and so on. I know this is true because I did housesit in all of these cities myself!
I saved so much money on housesitting in these (more expensive) countries. And also got to see so much more of these countries’ cultures, lifestyles, and people.
36. Tax event: don’t stay over 6 months in one country
Did you know that if you stay longer in one country for more than 6 months/180 days in a year, you will trigger a tax event? Yep, a country can tell you to pay up!
You might have to pay double taxes in your home country and even in this new country you’ve been staying in.
Be smart and get out of there before this happens. Keep moving if you don’t want to pay taxes in that country where you don’t have tax residency.
41. There’s always a solution for every problem
Got a problem? That sucks. But don’t panic.
All the problems you’ve ever had before are all fixed now, no? Exactly, and this new problem will also be handled and fixed. So don’t panic about it, just get on with on. Fix it!
Action solves all stress.
Go to Google and ChatGPT to get informed, and if you still need help, ask an expert who can truly help you further along. There is truly a solution to every problem. It might not be available right away, but you will find your way to fix this situation eventually.
